“Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23 NKJV.
“… For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 ESV.
Salvation is a process. Moving from a sinful life to a glorious one through our Lord Jesus Christ, does not happen overnight. It is a daily battle.
The process might often start outwardly with the obvious sins related to an unrighteous lifestyle . It will start with a conscious decision to change that lifestyle, supported by prayers, getting rooted in a church and the help of the Holy Spirit.
But the most difficult aspect is the inward process. When God starts to deal with the sin within. This is the one that collapses families, communities and eventually churches. Things like anger, envy, hypocrisy, disloyalty, pride…are rampant among the children of God. That is why Jesus said adultery does not start from the act. In fact, the very moment you admire a man who is not your husband or a woman who is not your wife, you have committed it. In the court of law, a premeditated murder has a heavier sentence than the one that happens by accident. Why? because from a thought, it became a plan that then turned into action.
So, just like a deadly poison, the sin within slowly moves through your veins until it finally kills you. It works like a ticking bomb, waiting for the right trigger to finally blow up. The saddest aspect is that no one is exempt , from the leaders of the church to the congregation, we all have something in there that God is working on. Now don’t get me wrong, many times, we have been in church for so long that we think we have dealt with those things and most times, we do not even realize we are still having issues. But, God being the loving Father He is, always looks at the heart like the scripture says. At times, just like the burning bush, God himself will orchestrate a situation for the sin within you to come to light. When that happens, do not fight the process:
- Repent and ask God to forgive you.
- If people have been hurt as a result of something still in you that should have left, ask for their forgiveness.
- Now take it to God. Ask Him to reveal to you the way to resolve it.
- If you are not sure how to handle it, ask for help from your pastor.
The word says, we shall know the truth and it will set us free. Rest assured, the first step in your deliverance has come from the fact that you have acknowledged the situation and are ready to change.
My prayer for you today:
Father, we thank you for your love and for your infinite patience with us. We thank you that you love us enough to bring to light the things in our lives that are the cause of our destruction. Father, as we have come to that knowledge, let your delivering power move through us. Holy Spirit, kill in us the roots of any sin within acting like a poison in our lives. Transform us, Lord Jesus, and help us be more and more like you. In Jesus Name, Amen.
This is beautiful, I needed it. God bless you Dr

Dr. Annick Adjei, you are one of the few people I have met that say that salvation is a daily process. That’s great! Remember that scripture that says work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
